On Thursday Robert revealed he once ate only potatoes for two weeks to ‘cleanse’ his body in a revealing interview calling out ‘insidious and addictive’ body standards.

The Batman star told ES Magazine he had tried ‘every fad except consistency’ in a quest for the perfect physique, while detailing the spartan diet he followed to ‘detox’ his body.

He said: ‘I once ate nothing but potatoes for two weeks, as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt. Apparently it’s a cleanse… you definitely lose weight.’

He added: ‘Even if you’re just watching your calorie intake, it’s extraordinarily addictive — and you don’t quite realize how insidious it is until it’s too late.’

Pattinson said he had ‘basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency’ and said he had once tried the keto diet – a low carb, high fat lifestyle.

He said: ‘I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a diet where you just eat charcuterie boards and cheese all the time?’ But I didn’t realize that you can’t have beer as it completely defeats the purpose.’

Back in March the Twilight star revealed some of his techniques to get in shape to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman,

The British actor opened up about some of his fitness secrets for getting into Batman shape in a new interview with People.

The heartthrob revealed one of his techniques was even limiting his sips of water to make his physique stand out that much more.

‘I had about three months before the movie started, and then you’re working out before and after work all the time,’ Pattinson revealed.

‘You just cut down and cut down and cut down before the couple of scenes with your shirt off, and you’re counting sips of water,’ the actor added.

The technique of counting water sips is used in amateur wrestling to cut down on weight, and by bodybuilders before a big show.

A Muscle & Fitness article recommends that, on the day of the show, a bodybuilder should just take, ‘minor sips’ of water before the prejudging, a technique Pattinson mirrored for his Batman look.

While he only had a few months to get into the right shape, he revealed that, ‘Shame is my biggest motivator, 100%.’
