Roberto Firmino has revealed that Liverpool is ‘no longer the same’ without his ‘brother’ Philippe Coutinho since the Brazilian completed his £145million move to Barcelona earlier this week.

Coutinho’s compatriot posted the heartfelt message on his Instagram page where he wished the 25-year-old ‘infinite success’ at his new club.

In the message, Firmino labels Barcelona’s newest signing as a ‘magician’ and described it as ‘an honour’ to have played alongside him.

‘Liverpool is no longer the same without you my magical brother’, the Liverpool striker said on his Instagram post.

‘I wish you infinite success, that you enjoy life and realise all your dreams brother.’

‘God is always protecting you and your whole family. It was an honour to play with a magician like you.’

As well as having a strong bond and understanding on the pitch, the two Brazil internationals were even closer off it, after Firmino made Coutinho his best man when he married his long-time girlfriend Larissa Peereira last summer.

The pair were often seen on nights out socialising together before Coutinho’s massive transfer to the Catalan giants.
