Now Triple M radio host Robin Bailey has opened up on her treasured relationship with Sean Pickwell, who has received a positive post-op prognosis after 40 per cent of his liver was removed.
The popular radio personality admitted ‘it’s been tough’, after Sean underwent the ten-hour operation just three days before the anniversary of her husband Tony Smart’s suicide.

But the mother-of-three said she remains a positive person and praised her sons Fin, 17, Lewin, 15, and Piper, 12 – who comforted her during the difficult time.
‘This is big, and it’s hard for everyone to get their heads around. But it’s certainly brought out the best in people,’ she told Stellar.
‘[My children were] amazing… I wouldn’t have known or seen this compassion if this situation hadn’t arisen.’
Robin revealed that she first met Sean while working together at Melbourne’s Fox FM more than 25 years ago, where she was an assistant producer and he was the program director.

Robin spoke of her partner’s cancer diagnosis last month.
Speaking to The Courier Mail, she revealed what she said to her three sons before taking off to be by his side.
‘I sat them down and I said “guys, you are my number one priority but Sean needs me”.
‘They really like Sean and they see how happy he makes me, and my eldest said ”mum, he’s got cancer, you’ve got to go”.’
