Rochelle Humes is put in a headlock by female wrestler Jetta on ITV’s Lorraine

A terrified Rochelle Humes was put in a headlock live on TV on Monday after interviewing three women wrestlers.

The singer, who was presenting ITV’s Lorraine, asked Jetta, Rhia O’Reilly and Erin Angel to show off some of their moves, but probably didn’t expect to be yanked down by the neck in the process.

Jetta – real name is Victoria Owen – wouldn’t let the 29-year-old go unless she tapped the sofa to beg for mercy, which Rochelle didn’t hesitate to do.

After she had calmed down Rochelle admitted that she actually ‘really enjoyed’ getting a taste of wrestling.

The three wrestlers all compete in the women wrestler’s EVE Championships, and Rochelle called their passion ’empowering’.

She said: ‘It’s so empowering to see women do such strong stuff, which I absolutely love.’

Jetta, 31, from Coventry, then said she’d show Rochelle a few moves that she could later test out on them.

‘I’m actually quite scared about this,’ the Saturdays singer admitted, before Jetta told her she would be put in a headlock.

‘What?! Ok. My husband will be quite happy about this,’ Rochelle said.

As Jenna got a tight grip around Rochelle’s neck she started panicking and saying ‘oh my god!’.

But the wrestler wouldn’t let her go until she tapped the table to ask for mercy, which Rochelle did quickly.

‘I was tapping for dear life there,’ she said after she was released.

Rochelle then managed to compose herself, before saying: ‘Thanks very much ladies. Even if you put me in a headlock I really enjoyed that.’

Jetta’s day job is as a warehouse supervisor, but she started wrestling when she was just 15-years-old.

Her character is usually the villain and she enjoys playing up to the role, admitting: ‘I like to do comedy stuff and I enjoy getting booed. If that’s your job and you’re there to be booed, the louder the boos the better you’re doing.’

Rhia O’Reilly, who is a two time Eve Champion, broke her ankle in the first few minutes of her title-earning match, but carried on through and won the championship.

Appearing on the show in green hotpants and fishnet tights, Rhia tried to wrestle Jetta while Erin Angel stepped in.

Erin’s runs a baby swimming school in her day job, but says it doesn’t ever clash with her role in the wrestling ring.

She said: ‘I try to keep it separate but with social media it’s not long until people find out. Luckily the reactions I’ve had are positive, no one’s worried I’m going to throw their baby around or anything.’
