The man, from Deer Park, will be charged at a later date with dangerous operation of a vessel and assault offences.

The jet ski has been impounded for two days.

Water Police Sergeant David McHenry said police will be operating covertly from beaches and lakes all over Victoria this summer.

‘Police are working hard to ensure everyone can safely enjoy the water this season and will not tolerate disruptive behaviour,’ Sgt McHenry said.

‘Operators of any recreational vessel, including jet skis, are subject to impound if found operating in a dangerous manner.’
