Roman Kemp is forced to apologise on The One Show after guest Zachary Levi swears on live TV

‘What did we say?’ Roman Kemp is forced to apologise on The One Show after actor Zachary Levi swears on live TV in hilarious blunder alongside Dame Helen Mirren

Roman Kemp was forced to apologise on The One Show on Monday night after a guest swore on live TV in a hilarious blunder.

The radio host, 30, was speaking to actors Zachary Levi and Dame Helen Mirren about their upcoming film Shazam! Fury of the Gods on the BBC show which airs at 7pm.

Zachary, who plays the title character, was describing the film so animatedly that he let a swear word slip.

He didn’t appear to notice his error as Roman quickly rushed in apologise for airing explicit language live on TV before the 9pm watershed kicked in.

Describing the film, Zachary said: ‘And then you had to the mix these three powerful, beautiful, talented women: Helen Mirren and Lucy Lu and Rachel Zegler who are the daughters of Atlas and they are p****d off.’

Uh oh! Roman Kemp, 30, quickly rushed in to apologise after a swear word was said on The One Show on Monday night

The actor, 42, was blissfully unaware as he then continued to engage in an  enthusiastic discussion with Dame Helen, 77.

But Roman was forced to interrupt the segment to air an apology with a sense of amusement as he sat alongside co-host Alex Jones.

The BBC’s 9pm watershed means all programmes aired in the early evening should be suitable for everyone to watch, including children. This means that no explicit language should be used.

The son of Spandau Ballet musician Martin and Shirlie Kemp said: ‘Just quickly want to apologise for any language that you may have heard a moment ago.

‘Certain things mean different things on different sides of the world.’

Both Zachary and Helen had clearly not expected the interruption and expressed their shock, saying: ‘What did we say?!’ with Zachary adding: ‘Oh my god, I can’t wait to watch this on the internet.’

The two actors were clueless as Helen even asked which one of them had made the mistake.

They clearly saw the funny side of the incident as Zachary roared with laughter and Helen chuckled.

But Roman was keen to avoid a repeat of the incident as he waved them off, saying ‘doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter!’ as he also tried to hold back his laughter.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a sequel to the 2019 film and will be released in the US later this month.

Also starring Rachel Zegler and Adam Brody, it is based on the DC character Shazam, who is fighting the daughters of Atlas.

In the film, Zachary, who also voiced Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled, takes on a villainous Helen Mirren, who plays Hespera.

The blunder follows another incident on The One Show that made headlines last month.

Viewers were left baffled after Sam Smith revealed his dream of becoming a ‘fisher-them’ in a chat about his secret love of fly fishing.

The singer, 30, was asked about their fishing hobby before correcting presenter Roman Keating after he appeared to ‘misgender’ them by asking whether they would like to be a ‘fly fisherman’.

The non-binary star, who uses the pronouns they/them, corrected the host by saying they would like to become a ‘fisher-them’.

The Stay With Me singer said: ‘I’d be any type of fisher-them.

‘I think I would like to, one day, I’d just like to end my days fishing. Like sitting on a bank.’
