Romanian toyboy, 30, who married Brit vicar, 81, is engaged to new fiancé and lives life of luxury after inheriting pensioner’s £150k estate when he died three years after their wedding

A Romanian toyboy, 30, who married a British vicar 54 years older than him is engaged to a new fiancé and living a life of luxury after inheriting his pensioner ex-husband’s £150,000 estate when he died three years after their wedding.

Male model Florin Marin was left a £2,000 monthly pension and £150,000 when former priest Philip Clements died aged 81 in 2020 – plus £100,000 in property.

He then met Spaniard Jeronimo Jesus de Vega and was with him for almost two years – before moving on to German-Italian hotel boss Giovanni Messina, 53.

Now he has confirmed to Mail Online the new couple have got engaged.

Speaking exclusively  from Baden-Baden in Germany where he lives with his new partner, Mr Marin said:’ Yes, I am engaged, but I’m not sure I will get married – I promised Philip I wouldn’t marry again.

‘I got engaged because I like to have a ring on my finger and I like presents but Philip was such a lovely man, I think about him all the time and he’s never far from my thoughts.

‘I don’t have a picture of Philip here in the new house but in Romania I have lots of pictures of him.

‘I told Giovanni all about him and Jeronimo when we met and he said he didn’t care, he said the past is the past and the future is ours.

‘I opened the computer and showed him all about the past and he said he didn’t care, what mattered now was us and our new life together.

‘But I am getting old now, I will be 31 in the summer so I am a junior sugar daddy, I am starting to get grey hair now.’

Mr Clements, from Eastry in Kent, moved to Romania to be with Florin in 2017 but died in hospital three years later.

Their age gap meant the relationship raised eyebrows and the two even appeared on Jeremy Kyle’s former ITV show.

They split briefly while Florin saw his new Spanish partner before getting back together.

Mr Clements said at the time: ‘I love him to bits – if we were permanently separated, I would be the most unhappy person in the world.’

He had served as a priest for 50 years with the Anglican church but he retired before marrying Mr Marin.

The relationship angered Philip’s two brothers Brian and Tony, who were both banned from their sibling’s funeral after calling Florin a ‘gold-digger’.

Mr Clements had sold a £215,000 home in Sandwich, Kent, to buy a flat in Romanian capital Bucharest and transferred ownership into his new husband’s name.

Mr Clements had only recently moved to Romania before falling ill in May 2020 and was taken to a hospital in Bucharest after running out of medication during the coronavirus lockdown.

Despite testing negative for Covid-19, he passed away overnight on May 31 in a room unable to receive visitors due to lockdown restrictions.

Mr Marin said at the time he was upset about Mr Clements’s death but that two days of mourning ‘is enough’ and that his late husband would not want him to be sad.

He also said Mr Clements had refused to go to hospital for several days – developing a fever and becoming disoriented – before Mr Marin insisted on taking him there.

Mr Marin said he was then separated from his husband as he was placed on a quarantined coroanvirus ward amid fears he had the disease, before being transferred to a cardiac ward where he slipped into a coma then died.

Mr Marin met his new partner 18 months ago and initially commuted between home in Romania and Baden-Baden but has now moved to Germany permanently.

His social media profile is full of glamorous holidays the two have taken together in the last few months, including Christmas in the swish Swiss ski resort of Gstaad.

Mr Marin said this week: ‘The last few months I’ve been so busy we had Christmas in Switzerland and then last summer we went to Lake Como and Venice, and we were in Majorca twice.

‘I do have expansive extravagant holidays, maybe too many.

‘I met my new partner on the Planet Romeo, it’s a gay app – he looks a bit like Jeronimo, and we have been together for 18 months.

‘They have similar looks and are a very similar age but are very different.

‘Giovanni is a lovely man and I am very much in love.

‘We met when I was a bit low and suffering from anxiety – I can’t stay a widow all my life, you know, and we spoke for two months before we met up in person.’

Mr Marin said he was working at the hotel his partner runs in Baden-Baden, adding: ‘I am interviewing people and hiring staff – and I am working in the kitchen.

‘I’ve had such a terrible back the last few days from being in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

‘Giovanni says I need to earn some money to pay for my luxuries and holidays and I don’t have much to do during the days, so I’m happy to help him.’

Speaking of Jeronimo, he added: ‘He just got very jealous towards the end, and we just didn’t click anymore – he became every strict with life.

‘He got sick and then he had a heart attack, and then I tried to patch things up but then I got anxiety, and he pushed me too much and I said I couldn’t stay with him and it ended.

‘He tried to message me, but I had to block him because he was p***ing me off.’

He added: ‘I don’t speak with Philip’s two blood brothers, they p***ed me off.

‘Philip was my husband and I was entitled to what I got.

‘Philip’s half-brother Charles is very different – we are in contact and we send each other Christmas cards.’

Mr Marin also lashed out at his critics, saying: ‘Jesus Christ was killed by people who didn’t like them and in the same way I have nothing to say to these people.

‘People will always talk and have their opinions which is fine, but they don’t make me feel bad or guilty.

‘They can say whatever they want. I have a beautiful life and a beautiful boyfriend and so these people don’t disturb me – they can say whatever they want.’

Speaking of Mr Clements, he added: ‘I will always be very grateful to him – he taught me manners because he was a lovely gentleman.

‘We were so happy together and I’m sad he is not with me anymore.

‘He secured my life, he did everything to make sure I was happy and I think about him all the time.

‘It will be four years in May that he has gone.

‘Whenever I move, I put pictures of him on the walls, but I haven’t got round to putting them up in Baden-Baden yet.’
