Ronnie Wood proudly unveils his new painting for sale of The Rolling Stones dancing in Cuba

Ronnie Wood has revealed his latest painting for sale as a portrait of the Rolling Stones in Cuba.

The guitarist, 75, is an avid and talented artist and has created a painting depicting the band performing on a street in Havana.

Taking to Instagram to share the new piece, he wrote: ‘Ronnie’s latest portrait of the Rolling Stones shows the band on a Havana Street, with Charlie playing a Cuban drum, Mick dancing with a flourish and Darryl throwing his Fedora into the air!

‘The painting illustrates how the band were inspired and invigorated by the Havana musical scene and the people of Cuba, at the time of their spectacular free concert for over 500,000 people.’

Another painting is dated March 25, 2016 and showed the setlist of the free concert that the band played in Cuba, which was filmed for Havana Moon.

The prints are both signed and are called Stones in Cuba and Havana Setlist, available to buy.

It comes after it was revealed Ronnie has made a fortune on his incredible paintings as he pockets over £1 million in a year.

He filed new accounts for his art company revealing he made a massive £1,437,277 in profit last year.

With his work being snapped up around the world it is the first time his art has passed the million pound mark.

Ronnie has created oil painting and prints of his bandmates and has had exhibitions in London.

He discovered his talent for painting at Ealing Art College in the 60s alongside fellow stars Freddie Mercury and Pete Townshead.

After finding fame, Ronnie picked up a paint brush again in the 80s.

He previously said: ‘When I am painting, I lose track of time. I get engrossed. It’s great’.

It comes after The Rolling Stones are reportedly set to release their first album of new music later this year.

The album would be Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie’s first album in 18 years and the first since the death of drummer Charlie Watts two years ago.

Following a traumatic year, the trio are reportedly set to look forward to the future, with a source stating; ‘They’ve had a knock in recent years, but the show goes on.’

The group, who released Live Kicks in 2004 and A Bigger Bang in 2005, are said to have got together for studio sessions in New York over the past two weeks, and were joined by drummer Steve Jordan and bass player Darryl Jones.

A source told The Sun: ‘After Charlie’s passing there was some uncertainty about what to do next. They had stadium dates scheduled so pressed ahead, but afterwards it wasn’t clear what the future looked like.

‘But now they’ve had time to reflect they all feel it’s the right thing to keep doing what they’ve always done as a band, make new music and hopefully hit the road again to perform it to their fans.

‘They’ve had a knock in recent years, but the show goes on – and The Stones always do.’

The insider went on to add that the rockers are planning on a ‘major tour’ after the album, which will likely include countries in the US, South America and Europe.
