Rory McIlroy has decided to put his house in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida up for sale… and it will only set you back $13million (£9.5m).

The Northern Irish golfer has moved into Ernie Els’ old house nearby, according to Balls.ie.

He has therefore decided that he no longer has much use for the house he bought in 2013 for £7m.

That means he would make a £2.5m profit on the sale, which is being handled by estate agents Zillow.com.

McIlroy’s house has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a fully kitted out gym, a pool and a putting green.

There’s not much else that someone would want from a house, and McIlroy has also decorated it accordingly.

McIlroy, who earned $49,514,505 (£36m) last year, according to Golf Digest, is a huge Manchester United supporter.

And therefore it is no surprised to see that he has a framed shirt hanging on his wall.

There is also a vintage Coca Cola machine in his living room and the 28-year-old has put a pool table up to entertain guests.

The house also overlooks a lake and has a dock, meaning that any budding sailors can take full advantage of Florida’s natural geography.

Notable neighbours in the area include Serena Williams and Venus Williams, and former Republican primary candidate Dr Ben Carson.

McIlroy has moved on, both in terms of his property and his life with his now wife Erica Stoll.

The pair started dating in 2015. Stoll was a former employee of the PGA of America and lived in the Palm Beach Gardens area of Florida, having been born in New York.

They met in 2012. McIlroy overslept during the Ryder Cup Miracle at Medinah, and Stoll was the PGA employee who came and woke him up.

They were married in April 2017. Guests at the wedding included soul legend Stevie Wonder, One Direction’s Niall Horan and Chris Martin.

The wedding took place at Ashworth Castle, one of the top hotels in Ireland.

Once he gets the house sale out of the way, McIlroy will be keen to concentrate on his golf as he bids for a successful 2018.

The former world No 1 is planning a busy early part of the year as he aims to win the Masters and pick up the Green Jacket for the first time.

He is going to start his campaign with two European Tour events in the Middle East in January – the Abu Dhabi Championship and Dubai Desert Classic.

And he will take part in five tournaments in six weeks as part of the PGA Tour. The first event of that competition will be at Pebble Beach in February.
