  • The result sees Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops go nine clear at the top of the table

Celtic moved nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership after securing a hard-fought 2-0 win against Ross County at Victoria Park on Sunday.

A hard-fought encounter between the leaders and the relegation contenders was tight and tense throughout and only settled by stoppage-time goals in each half.

In first-half stoppage time, home defender Alex Iacovitti was penalised for handball after a VAR check, with Portuguese forward Jota netting from the spot.

Malky Mackay’s hosts pushed for a leveller but were kept out by the Hoops, who looked the more likely of the two sides to score in the second half, and eventually added the second in the 95th minute via substitute Alexandro Bernabei.

The result sees Ange Postecoglou’s men extend their lead over bitter rivals Rangers at the top.
