Roxy Jacenko, Anna Heinrich step out for Stakes Dau

The sun is out, the champagne is flowing, and Royal Randwick has been flooded with more hats than a British wedding.

Races season has begun and Australia’s celebrities are dusting off their brightest florals, most dramatic headpieces, and some especially playful frocks.

The stars were out in full force for Stakes Day on Saturday, milling about at Moët & Chandon’s party where free pink champagne was flowing all day long.

Daring to bare at least a little more was PR queen Roxy Jacenko, who showed off her curves with a white Nicola Finetti dress

Milliner Victoria Novak channelled the spring season with a printed Dolce & Gabbana dress full of painted flowers in red, blues, and yellows that was one of the boldest patterns of the bunch.

She perfectly matched the colours to her D&G shoes and a crown of her own design.

Victoria revealed on Instagram that she made the crown – which she dubbed the ‘Van Gogh’ – especially to match the ‘Majolica’ print dress, using exclusive rare vintage Swarovski crystals.

The milliner admitted that considering where to carefully place each colour to channel her print was an ‘exciting challenge’.

She topped off the look with huge earrings and a bright canary yellow quilted Chanel bag.

Another of Victoria’s creations was sported by Anna Heinrich, who wore her ‘Luna Bee’ headpiece to add some dazzle to her understated pink dress.

The former Bachelor star was one of the more conservative of the celebrities when it came to her fashion choices, covering up in a sleeved Rebecca Vallance dress that fell to her ankles.

She matched the black collar of her dress with strappy Fendi heels and a classic monogram box purse.

Daring to bare at least a little more was PR queen Roxy Jacenko, who showed off her curves with a white Nicola Finetti dress.

The white frock was not for the meek of heart, pairing dramatic puffy sleeves with a trim of feathers above the waist of the calf-length dress.

Roxy paired her dress with a crown full of big blush pink roses made by milliner Nerida Winter that matched her delicate chain-link purse.

Also flashing some skin was model Madi Edwards, who sported a slinky short red dress by Australian fashion and swim label Nookie.

Madi let the bold colour be the star of the show, keeping her accessories neutral save for the red small red roses in her delicate gold headpiece.

Amy Pejkovic showed off her toned athlete’s legs in a metallic green Manning Cartell dress with a plunging neckline.

The high jumper, who attended the race with her AFL star boyfriend Adam Tomlinson, was not one to be left behind in the crown crowd.

She opted for a gold leaf creation that matched well with her blonde locks and gave the ensemble a touch of the drama.

Like Victoria, Carissa Walford was one of the few celebrities to opt for a loud print instead of a simple solid.

She sported an Alice McCall floral ensemble, complete with the on-trend midsection cut-out, in shades of yellow, orange, grey, and pink and a crocodile blue Oroton purse.

The socialite took her devotion for the races to the next level and worse the new Unpredictaheel – whose function goes far beyond footwear.

Designed by Australian Kira Goodey, the shoe has been wired to send race alerts to its wearer, contains a chip that can put in a bet, and books an Uber home with just three taps.

Carissa’s headpiece also stood out from the sea of crowns. The Nerida Winter creation takes a page from Old Hollywood, playing on the famous wrap turban once beloved by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.

Fox Sports presenter Abby Gelmi similarly opted for a straw hat, with a far less dramatic brim and a pink tint that matched her floral frock.
