Roy Dotrice, veteran British actor dies aged 94

Game of Thrones actor Roy Dotrice has died in his London home at the age of 94.

Dotrice was best known for his role as Leopold Mozart in the Oscar-winning film ‘Amadeus’ and his many theatre roles.

He was also in the second season of Game of Thrones as Hallyne the Pyromance – the head of the Alchemists’ Guild in King’s Landing.

Dotrice was originally cast as Grand Maester Pycelle in the show, but had to pull out because of ill health and was replaced by Julian Glover.

Dotrice was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II in 2008 when he was made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Dotrice was also a member of the Royal Air Force prior to his acting career.
