Hodgson would like to sign three players in January to help Palace escape their current rut as they prepare relegation battle.
Palace remain rock-bottom of the Premier League after defeat by Tottenham last Sunday sees them six points adrift of safety and four behind 19th Swansea.
But while Hodgson was in attendance in search of a potential saviour, another interested spectator in Solna was Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
Sportsmail have reported the Old Trafford boss is interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg, who played the full 90 minutes and was awarded man of the match.
