Morphine Love Dion, who stars on season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, was injured early Sunday morning in a Los Angeles car accident while riding in an Uber.
The collision left one person dead and another five others injured.
The crash took place on the 10 freeway in the city’s Jefferson Park area, according to Entertainment Weekly.
A note posted to the drag performer’s Instagram on Monday afternoon read: ‘Morphine was in a serious car accident while in an Uber. She suffered multiple injuries but is grateful to be alive.
‘Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Some space and time is appreciated as she focuses on healing.’

It was reported that California Highway Patrol was dispatched for a one-vehicle crash around 3:30am on Sunday.
However, more cars eventually crashed at the scene, piling up in a domino effect.
One person was trapped inside their vehicle, and eventually succumbed to their injuries, per ET.
Another Drag Race star, Kaos from season 3, was also a passenger in the Uber with Morphine when it crashed.
Kaos, who uses they/them pronouns, shared an Instagram Story on Monday to update fans on their status.
‘Just so everyone knows, I am ok [and have] just been on bed rest,’ they began the statement.
It was added, ‘I will be making a post explaining what happened this weekend once I am in the right headspace and also can explain it all and the accident.’
The note concluded, ‘For now [I’m] resting — and sorry, won’t be posting any dragcon stuff right now, either. That will come later. Prob next week!’

In a follow-up post, Kaos — who attended DragCon last weekend — encouraged fans and friends to share footage from the event.

Morphine’s season 16 costars Xunami Muse and Geneva Karr reacted to the incident on social media on Monday.
Xunami wrote about Morphine: ‘[She] and everyone else involved are doing fine. These were the scariest 2 days ever but so happy they’re all with us and recovering.’
Meanwhile, Geneva reposted Morphine’s statement, revealing Morphine underwent multiple surgeries, as she added: ‘Surgeries went well and now to a speedy recovery, love you hermana.’
