Sporting a noticeably fuller figure in Atlanta, Georgia, the 53-year-old looked completely unrecognisable when compared to his Gladiator days.

Russell, who had gained weight for a role in upcoming film Boy Erased, was snapped wearing a simple white T-shirt.
The father-of-two matched the shirt with beige dress pants and chocolate-brown shoes.
He also donned a pair of sunglasses in one image and could be seen with a cigarette in resting on his lips.

The veteran actor has come under fire in the past week after former New York Times reporter Sharon Waxman accused Russell and Matt Damon of burying a story involving Harvey Weinstein.
Writing for The Wrap, Sharon recalled that Russell and Matt both called her in 2004 to get a sex scandal story about the disgraced movie mogul killed.
But as more and more reports emerge of Harvey’s alleged sexual harrassment and rape of women in Hollywood, Russell has stayed silent despite a deluge of stars rushing to condemn the movie executive’s bad behaviour.

He was filming scenes for Boy Erased alongside Australian actress Nicole Kidman who looked considerably different in a blonde wig and leopard print top.
The movie, which is based on a book by Garrard Conley and directed by Joel Edgerton, follows the son of a baptist preacher who is pushed to take part in gay conversion therapy.
