Russell Crowe to build a major film studio in Coffs Harbour that will see the Pacific Bay Resort transformed into a hub for Hollywood stars

Kiwi-Australian actor Russell Crowe has unveiled his ambitious plan to bring Hollywood Down Under. 

According to The Daily Telegraph, the 57-year-old will soon be building a major film studio in NSW’s Coffs Harbour, near his Nana Glen estate.

The Gladiator star reportedly plans to build the studio at the Pacific Bay Resort, which will offer A-list movie stars on-site accommodation for them and their families while filming.

A source told The Daily Telegraph it will be a ‘family friendly film studio.’ 

The publication reports Russell will personally bank roll the project and he’s set to make an official announcement alongside government officials on Wednesday.

In recent months, Australia has been dubbed ‘Hollywood 2.0’ thanks to a handful of A-list stars moving across the pond to work on projects amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

Filming has just wrapped on the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film, starring he likes of Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Matt Damon and Chris Pratt, which was filmed in Sydney.
