Russell Dickerson and wife Kailey expecting second baby as pair reveal gender in sweet video – after opening up about miscarriage heartbreak

Country singer Russell Dickerson and wife Kailey are expecting their second child together.

The musician, 35, and photographer Kailey, 33,  are already parents to son Remington, two, and announced their impending new arrival and the baby’s gender in a sweet Instagram video this week.

Russell captioned the video: ‘God gave me a…. BOY! So grateful we get to tell you Remington is going to be a big brother this fall!!’

The video showed Kailey first finding out she was pregnant and showing off a positive pregnancy test, before she and Remington told Russell the happy news.

A shirtless Russell was seen saying ‘Nuh uh’ as he saw the pregnancy tests before breaking into a smile and saying ‘No way!’ as he hugged his family.

The pair also gave a look at their gender reveal with Russell saying he had mistakenly found out the baby’s sex after it was put in a subject line from an email from the doctors.

The room was decorated with blue confetti and streamers, with balloons spelling out ‘It’s a boy’ – with the video set to Russell’s song, God Gave Me A Girl.

The announcement comes four months after Kailey heartbreakingly revealed the couple had suffered a miscarriage at eight weeks last fall.

Taking to Instagram on New Year’s Eve with a photo of Russell and Remington at the beach, she wrote: ‘2022 was incredibly wonderful and heart-wrenching.

‘In the middle of the craziest year we have ever had, we lost a baby in September at 8 weeks.

‘It felt like drowning and trying to swim towards the sun to find the surface. I didn’t know if I’d ever share this, but something about going into this next year, I needed to leave this news in 2022.

‘The loss; however, is something that will always be written into our story. I know I’ll share more about it when I’m ready, but for now, and for the last several months, I’m holding these two extra close.

‘It gives me hope, knowing we are more connected than we think. And it gives me solace knowing nothing and no one’s life is perfect or without pain.

‘May we all give each other some more grace this next year… more kindness because we don’t know what someone is truly going through… more love because we all need it.

‘And may Jesus be near to the broken-hearted. He sure has been for us.’
