Incredible drone footage captures a Russian BMX champion take on a daring course around a citadel.

The Kazan Kremlin citadel became Irek Rizaev’s dream skate park for the incredible clip.

In the footage, shot by a drone, the 21-year-old can be seen zooming through the course that was specially built on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

BMX champion Irek Rizaev, 21, was filmed soaring through the Kazan Kremlin in Russia

The video starts with breathtaking shots of the citadel.

Beautiful turrets of white and blue protrude from the Annunciation Cathedral in the distance.

Mr Rizaev, from Russia, can then be seen cycling at speed towards the drone.

His first trick sees him ride up a ramp, onto the wall and down the other side.

As he rides over a series of ramps, he performs a triple tail whip.

This trick has a rider spin the base of the bike 360 degrees three times while holding onto the handlebars and only few riders can do it.

He then rides along roofs in breathtaking scenes before cycling past a musician playing the traditional Russian jaw harp.

The end of the video sees Mr Rizaev dismount before catching the drone.

His team carefully worked out each stage at the site to ensure they were careful to protect it.

Their aim was to achieve the amazing tricks without damaging the ancient walls.

The breathtaking site is the chief historic citadel of Russia and was built by Ivan the Terrible.
