You would usually expect to find an innocent set of monkey bars, a slide and a swing when taking your children to the local playground – not haunting sculptures of menacing surgeons and a giant octopus.
But a series of photographs taken at Russian playgrounds, that have been littered with several eerie figures, show just how creepy they can be.
Pictures from what are believed to be Soviet-era Russian playgrounds, show the model of a skeletal bull-like creature tussling with what appears to be a twisted mix between a crocodile and a dinosaur.
Also found in a playground is the spine-chilling figure of a woman in a blue dress standing as ‘blood’ streams from her eyes and down her cheeks.
One picture shows a handful of menacing monkey heads that hang just above where children would have played on a swing set.
Throughout the derelict playgrounds are crude sculptures of both animals and humans, which are enough to give anyone nightmares, let alone young children.
