Incredibly, the parachute unfurled at the last second and carried him safely to the ground 160ft below.

The video shows the unnamed man rubbing his bare hands to warm them on the icy day as he climbed over the balcony wall.

He paused momentarily before signalling to the camera and launching himself through the air.
