A drink-driver tried to eat his driving licence in front of cops who pulled him over.

Video shows him quickly shoving the chewed-up document into his trousers.

The suspected drink-driver was reportedly spotted staggering along the road before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle in Cherepovets, Russia.

In the video, the cop climbs into the patrol car next to the man.

The man, who has not been named, then reaches into his back pocket to retrieve the document before shoving it straight into his mouth.

He begins to slowly chew it while the bemused police officer looks on.

The man then pulls the licence from his mouth and shoves it down his trousers.

According to reports, the police officers saw the suspect staggering along the street before getting behind the wheel

As the man chewed, one of the unimpressed cops said in Russian: 'Do not forget to swallow!'

According to reports, the police officers saw the suspect staggering along the street with a drunk woman.

He then reportedly got behind the wheel of a car and started to drive off.

The cops stopped the vehicle at the nearest intersection and asked to see the man’s documents.  

The police seized his car and charged the suspect, who is now expected to receive a driving ban, according to local media.
