The TV presenter, 64, who announced the split in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage, will not date until the divorce is final, according to the Mirror.

Eamonn, 65, has gone public with his relationship with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 43, since the split, while Ruth remains publicly single.

Ruth has stayed private about her romantic life since the break-up, but she has been wearing her wedding band while out in public.

An insider told the publication: ‘She’s still wearing her wedding ring because she’s coming to terms with a long relationship ending, and realising Eamonn maybe wasn’t the person she thought he was.

‘And she’s also coming to terms with life being very, very different for her going forward.

‘Ruth has been having fun going out with her girlfriends, and enjoying a little flirt, but that’s it.’

It is believed she needs the chapter with Eamonn to end completely before she tries to establish anything new with someone else.

The source explained dating ‘was the last thing’ she wanted to do, but her friends want to see her happy with someone else.

TV duo Ruth and Eammon were married for nearly 15 years, and they share their son Jack, who is 22.

Eamonn and Ruth, who co-hosted This Morning on Fridays for 14 years until 2020, began their relationship in 1997.

At the time, Eamonn had separated from his first wife, Gabrielle, with whom he shares three children.

Their son Jack was born in 2002, and they married in June 2010, a few months after Eamonn proposed. Ruth recently admitted she is still adjusting to the end of their marriage.

Speaking to Woman & Home, she said: ‘I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted that my marriage is over, so I am trying to now embrace the fact that I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.’

Ruth has been focusing on herself in recent months. She marked her 65th birthday last month with two close friends at an all-inclusive resort on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

She shared a montage of holiday photos with her followers, including snaps with A Place In The Sun presenter Lucy Alexander. She wrote: ‘Sun, sea, sand, MANY cocktails and laughing until we cried!

‘Perfect. Wonderful accommodation, beautiful beaches, fabulous restaurants, great spa and, as much as I love them, no children!!’

A source has said Ruth is not considering a new relationship until her divorce is finalised.
