Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles is out of intensive care after being hit by a car that jumped a red light when its driver is alleged to have suffered a seizure.
The Tony-award winning actress, who is pregnant, was among a group of pedestrians who were hit in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, on Monday.
Authorities say the driver, Dorothy Bruns, 44, apparently had a seizure while stopped at the red light at around 12.40pm.

Her car drove forward and struck Miles and another mother, Lauren Lew, as they crossed the street with their children, Abigail Blumenstein and one-year-old Josh Lew, who was also killed.
Miles, 46, and Lauren Lew were both injured in the crash, along with a 46-year-old man.
Ruthie Ann Miles is the stage name of Ruthie Ann Blumenstein and she won a featured actress Tony in 2015 for her role as Lady Thiang in a revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘The King and I.’
Other credits included ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and playing Imelda Marcos in David Byrne’s off-Broadway musical ‘Here Lies Love.’
She had a recurring role on the FX series ‘The Americans.’
A message posted to Miles’ Twitter account updated followers on her health status.
‘By all accounts it is a miracle our second child is unharmed,’ it said.

‘Please continue to pray for the Lew and the Blumenstein families as we process the unthinkable and lay our grief in the loving arms of Jesus.’
‘We believe that she had a seizure. … It’s a real tragedy, but we have to make sure that this woman should have been driving in the first place,’ Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, New York Post reported.
‘We are investigating if there are any charges to be had,’ Gonzalez added.
Bruns told local authorities that she has no recollection of the incident and was unaware of what she had done until she was notified, sources told the New York Post.

However, city records did show that her vehicle had a total of 12 traffic violations since 2016.
Those included speeding in school zones and running red lights, which had been caught on camera.
She had two red-light infractions in Brooklyn – both in one week during April.
Her medical records have been subpoenaed allowing officials to review ailment history and figure out if she should have been on the road
‘This should never have happened,’ Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference, who has a home a short walk from where the accident happened.
‘She should never have been allowed to have been driving a car after what we know of these other violations.
‘I share the frustration of many in my community. I wish she was under arrest right now. I certainly believe measures need to be taken to ensure she will not drive a car anymore.’
