Ryan Giggs cut a relaxed figure as he headed out for a haircut with his girlfriend Zara Charles in Cheshire on Thursday.

The former Manchester United star, 49, donned a relaxed navy blue T-shirt and khaki shorts as he arrived at the barbers.

Joining Ryan was his girlfriend Zara, who was clad in tight black sportswear as she waited outside the barbers for her beau to have his hair cut.

It comes after news that a retrial has been ordered over allegations of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, and he faces waiting until at least mid 2023 to learn his fate.

Ryan’s girlfriend Zara, who is a lingerie model, has often been spotted supporting him since they took their romance public last year. 

It comes as Ryan said he was ‘obviously disappointed’ that a retrial has been ordered over allegations of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, as he faces waiting at least ten months to learn his fate. 

In a statement he thanked ‘my legal team, my mum, my children, my girlfriend Zara, as well as my closest friends, for their support throughout this period’.

The retrial decision came after the Crown Prosecution Service decided it would pursue a prosecution against the ex footballer after a jury failed to reach a verdict following a three-week trial.

The former Wales coach is accused of assaulting Greville, 38, and her 26-year-old sister Emma amid a booze-fuelled argument at his multi-million pound home in Worsley, Greater Manchester. 

He also stands accused of coercive and controlling behaviour towards PR executive Greville over three years – charges which he denies.

Ryan said in a statement: ‘After more than three weeks in court I am obviously disappointed that a retrial has been ordered.’

‘My not guilty plea remains in relation to all charges. I am confident that justice will eventually be done and my name will be cleared of all the allegations.

‘I would like to thank my legal team, my mum, my children, my girlfriend Zara, as well as my closest friends, for their support throughout this period.

‘I understand the level of interest and the scrutiny around this case but I would like to ask that my and my family’s privacy is respected in the weeks and months ahead.’

The retrial is expected to start on July 31. 

Giggs has kept a low-profile since stepping away as manager of Wales in April 2021. 

Back in December, the former Man United player was pictured enjoying Christmas with his ex-wife Stacey and his current girlfriend Zara Charles.
