‘He’s so funny and he’s very lovely and gracious,’ he explained.

Majors starred as Colt Seavers in the original series, which followed the ‘adventures of a film stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter when movie work is slow,’ according to IMDb.

The new remake follows stuntman Colt working on a new film directed by his ex (played by Emily Blunt) and attempting to find the movie’s missing star.

Gosling was honored with the Kirk Douglas award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which was held at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara.

According to the festival’s website, the award is given ‘to a lifelong contributor to cinema through their work in front of the camera, behind, or both.’

Other past recipients of the honor have included Hugh Jackman, Michelle Yeoh, Martin Scorsese, Jane Fonda and also Harrison Ford.

The ceremony also ‘benefits Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s year-round educational programs and was the most successful fundraiser in SBIFF’s history.’

The star stepped onto the red carpet wearing a black button up that was partially unfastened at the top and tucked into the waist of slacks.

Gosling was soon accompanied by the Barbie director, 40, who turned heads in a sleeveless, black dress that contained dazzling, silver floral embellishments throughout the material.

Ryan notably portrayed the character of Ken in the Barbie movie – which was released earlier last year in July.

The actor made a splash at the box office over the summer with the hit film Barbie

While talking to W Magazine earlier this month, the actor opened up about taking on the role and also his first impression of the character.

‘It was the title page of the script, which said Barbie and Ken, but ‘and Ken’ was scratched out. And the next impression was, this is the hardest part I’ll ever play,’ he admitted to the outlet.

‘How do you approach playing a 70-year-old crotchless doll? There’s no research you can do for that.’

Ryan added, ‘There’s no one you can shadow, no documentaries you can watch, no books written about Ken. You’re on your own.’
