Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool co-star Karan Soni reveals actor’s ‘heart has just grown even bigger’ since he became a father

Deadpool star Karan Soni has described the changes he has seen in his co-star Ryan Reynolds since the actor became a father.  

Reynolds, 47, and his wife Blake Lively, 36, share four children together, and Soni, 35, who has been working alongside the star on the Deadpool series for years, revealed the actor’s heart has ‘grown’ since he started a family. 

‘I think honestly, to me, him having his kids has really, I’ve seen that his heart has just grown even bigger than it was before,’ Karan told People at the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday. 

‘And I think the success of the first movie at the time that it came in his career, to me, I feel like he really appreciated it after all the craziness of everything.’

‘And I think he’s really put his entire energy into it and his whole heart into it, and these movies weirdly are so crass, but they have so much heart, and it all comes from him,’ he said.

Soni also shared a sweet anecdote from the set of Deadpool 2 involving Reynolds and one of his daughters.

The actor recalled how the children appeared on camera for personal ‘home movies’ Reynolds shot himself.  

‘There was like a scene in the second one where everyone’s auditioning for X-Force, and he had one of his daughters come, and it was the cutest,’ Karan recalled. 

‘He was like, “We’re just going to pause for five minutes, and she’s going to audition, right?”‘ Karan recounted, adding the exchange melted his ‘heart.’ 

It comes after Ryan finally revealed the name of his fourth child with wife Blake – 16 months after they welcomed the baby.

The movie star was on stage at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York City on Monday night and specifically thanked wife Blake and their four children – naming them all.

The fourth baby’s name has been a secret since they welcomed their child in February 2023.

Ryan revealed that their fourth child’s name is Olin.

The name Olin is of Nordic origin, and it means ancestor’s heir or to inherit.

It is typically a male name however Blake and Ryan have not yet revealed the gender of their fourth child.

Ryan and Blake are also parents to three daughters: James, nine, Inez, seven, and Betty, four.

‘I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here. I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here,’ Ryan said on the stage at the premiere on Monday night, according to Variety.

‘I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing – that is, the contents of this movie – that happens in your wondrous lives,’ he said.

The stars never officially revealed she had given birth to their fourth child, and instead shared a snap of herself wearing fitted jeans and a top and no baby bump on February 12, 2023.

Blake hinted too in the caption that she had her baby by writing: ‘Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023. Been busy,’ she wrote.

Blake announced her fourth pregnancy on the red carpet in September 2022 while at the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women’s Summit in New York City.

The Gossip Girl star also shared a slideshow of snaps of her during her pregnancy in 2022, with her best friend Taylor Swift also making an appearance.
