Ryan Reynolds shocked when he leaned in for kiss with Blake Lively’s sister… but all is not what it seems.

The actor, 48, spoofed American medical sitcom Doogie Howser, M.D. in a response to the show’s star Neil Patrick Harris voicing Deadpool for Marvel’s new VR game.

Ryan, who has played the anti-hero since 2009, reacted to the news with a hilarious video, parodying Neil’s character and mocking the casting choice.

Blake’s half sister Robyn, 53, played Nurse Michele Farber in Doogie Howser, M.D., and made a cameo for the spoof.

In the clip, Ryan types up a letter on his computer and reads aloud: ‘Today, I learned a lesson about buttholes they don’t teach you in medical school.

He continued: ‘People who steal your signature role are the biggest buttholes of all. No, I don’t blame Meta Quest.

‘Neil Patrick Harris is an amazing actor with the nurturing voice of an angel, but even though I haven’t hit puberty yet, I still know when you’re getting totally screwed.’

Robyn then walks into shot, with Ryan shouting: ‘My girlfriend! What are you doing here? If my dad sees you here, he’s gonna freak.’

‘You’re a 48-year-old man,’ she replied.

He continues: ‘I’m a 14-year-old medical prodigy who’s going through the change,’ before adding: ‘Robyn, you’re being paid.’

Remaining in character, Ryan then leans in for a kiss wit Robyn, but stops: ‘I don’t think we should do that because you’re my sister-in-law.’

Elsewhere, the actor’s upcoming movie has been delayed by a staggering seven months – amid his wife Blake’s legal drama with Justin Baldoni.

Animal Friends, an R-rated combination of live-action and animation starring Reynolds, was previously slated for release this autumn on October 10, 2025.

Now, however, the Warner Bros Pictures and Legendary Entertainment production has been postponed and will bow next year on May 1, 2026, according to Deadline.

The date change went public this Tuesday, but no reason was officially announced for the substantial alteration in scheduling.

May 1, 2026 was supposed to be the release date of the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday, but that picture has now been bumped to December 18, 2026, potentially leaving an opening for Animal Friends at the start of May.

Reynolds is at the top of a glittering cast including Aubrey Plaza, Jason Momoa, Addison Rae, Eric André, Dan Levy and Rob Delaney.
