Ryan Seacrest tense ahead of Oscar red carpet gig amid assault claim

E! has announced it is planning to run a delay on its coverage of the red carpet surrounding allegations of sexual misconduct against host Ryan Seacrest.

The network dismissed the news of the 30-second tape delay as part of its standard practice.

‘As always, we tape multiple sources of content simultaneously to deliver the best possible show, and there are often brief delays between interviews,’ an E! spokesperson told Variety.

Seacrest, 43, has been embroiled in scandal ever since he was accused of sexual harassment by his ex-stylist, Suzie Hardy.

At the Golden Globes last month, E! faced controversy after several stars, including Eva Longoria and Debra Messing, called out the network over former host Catt Sadler’s claims about pay inequality at E!

Aileen Gram-Moren, a longtime producer, claimed she was fired after Longoria’s interview made it to air, which E! denies.

Seacrest has covered the red carpet for the E! network since 2006 and hosts very major ceremony’s red carpet show.

On Sunday, he shared a photo on Instagram of him smiling and dressed in a tuxedo and captioned it: ‘Almost showtime.’

It was a change in demeanor from Saturday evening, when Seacrest seemed stressed as he left the American Idol studios.

Given the current climate and the Me Too campaign to end assault in showbiz, many actresses have considered opting out of being interviewed by the popular presenter.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence, who will be on the red carpet, was non-committal when asked about it by shock jock Howard Stern recently.

‘He has not been to trial for anything,’ the 27-year-old said. ‘I am not a judge. I am not a jury, you know. I don’t know, that is where this stuff gets tricky.’

Some, such as #MeToo movement founder Tarana Burke, declared he should have stepped aside.

‘They really shouldn’t send him [to the Oscars],’ Burke told Variety.

Meanwhile, Ryan prepped for the awards as normal, posting an Instagram snap of himself with his regular crew on Sunday morning.

Suzie described the network’s investigation as a whitewash in an interview with Variety.

She also detailed his behavior claiming he placed his erect penis against her while wearing only his underwear, groped her and slapped her rear.

Ryan categorically denies her allegations and has accused her of trying to extort money from him.
