A woman who was allegedly mowed down and killed by her husband leaves behind five children – with her oldest son, 20, opening up about how he will have to raise his four younger siblings.
Steven Galcsik, 47, allegedly ran over his wife Natalie, 46, with a car at their Pokolbin home in NSW’s Hunter Valley region, just after 6pm on Friday.
The alleged incident occurred at a property where the couple run a luxury accommodation business.
A family member called emergency services, but despite their best efforts, Ms Galcsik died at the scene.
Detectives are reportedly investigating how many times Ms Galcsik was allegedly struck as her husband is remanded in custody charged with domestic violence murder.
On Monday, Ms Galcsik’s 20-year-old son Alex revealed he has been left alone to support his siblings, as he launched a GoFundMe to assist with financial costs.
‘My mother dedicated her life to raising myself and my siblings with selflessness and love despite difficult circumstances,’ he wrote.
‘She was the best mum we could of asked for.

‘Any contribution great or small would be much appreciated to lessen the financial burden of this tough situation.’
Meanwhile, tributes have begun to pour in online for the mother, with one friend saying she was left ‘speechless’ by the news of her death.
‘Anyone who knew Natalie and her amazing kids would know how kind and selfless she was,’ the friend wrote online.
‘My heart breaks for these five children.’
It is not the first tragedy to befall the family. Ms Galcsik’s sudden death comes just 14 months after the couple’s seven-year-old son died in a drowning tragedy in a dam near the property.
The child was pulled unconscious from a dam in Pokolbin on August 18, 2023.
The Galcsiks owned Unlax @ Hunter Valley, a boutique four-star bed-and-breakfast, featuring self-contained cottages for hire in the heart of the state’s wine country.
Rooms at the rustic property start at $398-a-night, with guests offered ‘360 degrees views of natural bushland and native wildlife’.
They had the business for seven years after buying the 40 hectare property for $1.45million in 2017.

Detectives are investigating whether the Galcsiks – who had no police record of domestic violence – were grappling with marital issues in the lead up to her death.
Police are also investigating whether the alleged incident was witnessed by relatives. It is understood the Alex Galcsik made the triple 0 call.
An AVO application has been made between Galcsik and his adult son, which is due to appear before Cessnock Local Court next month.
According to online posts, Ms Galcsik was a horse enthusiast who was a member of the region’s equestrian community.
She also loved dogs and was interested in spirituality and holistic wellbeing practices, such as reiki.
The property has been declared a crime scene and Daily Mail Australia understands its accommodation services have been suspended until further notice.
Galcsik is due to face Newcastle Local Court again on November 27.
