‘It is behind us’: Sadio Mane insists he is on good terms with Mohamed Salah after Liverpool pair clashed during victory against Burnley

Sadio Mane insists there is no lingering issue with Mohamed Salah after their row during Liverpool’s win at Burnley last month.

Mane, speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League match with Red Bull Salzburg at Anfield, admitted that other players in the squad sometimes joke about the incident at Turf Moor.

It emerged during Liverpool’s 3-0 win in August where Mane wasn’t passed to by Salah despite being in a strong position to score.

‘Things can happen in football,’ Mane said. ‘I had been a little bit frustrated because it is football and I wanted to score more goals.

‘When you see (Manchester) City – for me, it was really important to score as many goals as we can but it can happen, he didn’t see me.

‘Mo is a really good friend. Even yesterday, Gini (Wijnaldum) said “Mo, why did Sadio want to beat you in the Burnley game?”
