Fans might be forgiven for thinking it was the early noughties when they saw Brad Pitt lovingly congratulating his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston backstage at the SAG Awards on Sunday night.
And the duo attended the same Netflix after-party following the main event, partying the night away at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles with their A-list friends.
The former couple, who divorced in 2005, arrived separately and mingled with the crowd at the bash, who included Brad’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.

Brad, 56, and Jen, 50, kept their distance at the party after their brief backstage reunion that sent fans into a spin on social media.
The pair finally touched and held hands – if only briefly – and there was plenty of photographic evidence to prove it.
But the pair weren’t spotted together at the Netflix bash, instead opting to catch up with other friends.

Jennifer was looking lovely in the same silk dress she had worn to the main event, exuding elegance as she celebrated her win.
Brad worked the room, chatting to everyone from close pal Leo to Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage.
Earlier in the evening, as Brad gave his acceptance speech, Aniston could be seen laughing as Pitt joked about his love life and even being on Tinder.
Celebrating: The Friends star was delighted after picking up the Best Actress in a Drama Series prize for The Morning Show
Living it up: She joined Taika Waititi, Laura Dern, and Netflix’s Sarandos at the event
But just minutes afterwards, Aniston won her own SAG for her role in The Morning Show, taking home the Best Actress in a Drama Series prize.
As she delivered her acceptance speech, cameras caught Pitt stopping to watch his ex-wife’s big moment.
He was seen grinning as she accepted her award until moments later the pair met up backstage sending Twitter into meltdown and generating a host of funny memes.
Awkward: Earlier in the night, Brad appeared to take aim at Angelina Jolie in his acceptance speech
Friendly exes: The pair looked truly happy to see one another when they met backstage
Touchy-feely: Pitt briefly held Aniston’s hand as she turned away from him
Shocked: One Twitter user brought a humorous take on Pitt trying to hold onto Aniston’s hand
‘Brad and Jen!! Brad and Jen!! This is not a drill!!!’ wrote one excited Twitter user.
‘Brad Pitt is on Tinder? I guess I am on Tinder now too,’ wrote another Twitter hopeful.
‘I can’t believe this month gave us Meghan and Harry and Brad and Jen. 2020 quit while you’re AHEAD,’ said another.
‘GUYS Brad and Jen was YEARS ago ok ENOUGH already now would everybody PLEASE just STOP and tell me WHERE I should get this TATTOOED,’ said another witty online poster who was marveling at the long-for images.
Reaction: Twitter users couldn’t believe what they were seeing as the former married couple held hands and flashed smiles and one another
Jennifer was emotional when she discussed her shock at her big Best Actress win.
Addressing the crowd, she enthused: ‘I really, honestly, feel that I’m just kicking into a creative stride. I’ve just discovered a new love of this in a new way that I didn’t know that I had before so I almost have new eyes that I’m seeing what it is that I do as an actor.’
On The Morning Show, Aniston plays a news anchor on a popular new program who fights to retain her job after her co-host is fired amid a sexual misconduct scandal.
Along the way she sparks a rivalry with a haphazard field reporter, played by Reese Witherspoon.
‘I’m shrieking. I did not see this coming at all so it’s very exciting. I’m overwhelmed,’ she said of her SAG win for The Morning Show.
With the first season of the Apple TV + drama in the rear-view mirror, Aniston is now looking to take a jump into another genre she’s had huge success with in the past.
‘I want to do more comedies,’ she said. ‘I want to have some laughter.’
The star clearly thrives in the genre. Some of her most iconic roles include Friends, Office Space, Along Came Polly, We’re The Millers and Horrible Bosses.
