Salim Mehajer has backed Floyd Mayweather to beat Conor McGregor in Sunday’s bout – but still denies the fight is the reason behind his trip to Las Vegas.
Mehajer has touched down in Vegas on a ‘business’ trip, after his strict bail conditions were relaxed this week.
The disgraced former Auburn deputy mayor arrived in America on Wednesday (local time) and again denied he was there to watch the fight between the boxer and UFC champion.
However, the 31-year-old said that he hoped Mayweather would come away victorious in the match, according to 9News.

Upon his arrival he again denied he was flying to Vegas to witness the Floyd Mayweather versus Conor McGregor fight on Sunday
Mehajer also assured that creditors, who are pursuing two of his companies, that they would be paid in full in the coming weeks.
‘The creditors will be paid. As any development company it’s asset rich and one settlement is in place, which we’ve already received over 110 percent of the debt cover,’ he told Channel Nine.
‘We anticipate to have settlement in the next two weeks and see all the creditors have been paid in full.’
Mehajer is also facing fraud charges for allegedly forging Australian Electoral Commission enrolments and fabricating addresses for friends and family.

To travel to the United States he had his bail conditions relaxed in a secret hearing at Downing Centre Local Court this week, Nine News reported.
He was granted leave by the court but must return on September 4 and hand back his passport within 24 hours.
He received the relaxation of his bail rules on Monday after being ordered to hand over $50,000.
Mehajer faces strict punishments if he breaks the rules of the relaxation or commits any other crimes.

Earlier this month he put up his palatial Lidcombe mansion for lease two years after it was made famous by his $35 million wedding.
The four-storey house on Frances Street, which Mehajer illegally shut down for his extravagant wedding, was advertised for lease for $2,950 a week.
The controversial former Auburn deputy mayor offered his family home hours before he faced his estranged wife Aysha in court after she slapped him with another AVO.
Neither couple turned up to Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday morning but an interim order was granted against Mehajer to protect his estranged wife.
