Sam Burgess cuts a dapper figure as he attends NRL Hall of Fame honours in Sydney while fiancée Lucy watches from England

Sam Burgess cut a dapper figure as he stepped out at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday for the NRL Hall Of Fame Awards.

Sam, who was one of 17 Hall of Fame inductees, attended the event without fiancée Lucy Graham, who was watching the telecast in England.

Sam showed of his sartorial style in what appeared to be a classic black velvet dinner jacket with a peak lapel.

He finished the look with a pleated white formal shirt and black bow tie, paired with black pants and matching leather shoes.

Sam added an extra touch of panache with a white pocket square and a silver stainless steel watch.

Sporting a hint of stubble, Sam kept his hair cropped short at the back and sides.

Later in the evening, Sam proudly donned the official grey NRL Hall of Fame jacket.

While he apparently attended the event solo, fellow inductee Greg Inglis was happy to pose with Sam at the photo wall.

The duo looked pleased as punch to be displaying their stunning diamond encrusted Hall of Fame rings.

Greg smiled broadly as he stood next to Sam sporting a shock of stubble and a simple white shirt and black tie under his Hall of Fame jacket.

While Sam’s fiancée Lucy Graham did not attend the event, she was happy to watch it all unfold back home in the UK.

Lucy took to her Instagram story on Wednesday to share a sweet snap of daughter Robbie, 11 months.

Robbie looked cute as a button sitting on the lounge room floor.

She seemed occupied with a lilac coloured ribbon that was tied around her head.

The photo also showed a television screen in the corner that displayed the NRL Hall of Fame logo, suggesting that Lucy was glued to the screen watching her beau at the glittering event.

Sam is the first-ever English international to be inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame.

The rugby league superstar led South Sydney Rabbitohs to a Premiership in 2014 after fracturing his cheekbone early in the game.

Lucy recently took to her Instagram story to share a 15-year-old throwback snap of the future pair partying with friends, former Leeds rugby league star Ewan Dowes and his wife Amy.

Lucy and Sam have known each other for over 20 years.

The image was coupled with a more recent snap of the friendly foursome and captioned simply with ’15 years later’.

The former Rabbitohs player proposed to Lucy in June last year, just nine months after they went public with their relationship.

He previously revealed he was extremely nervous when he asked the Leeds hairdresser to marry him.

Lucy and Sam welcomed their daughter Robbie into the world last September and announced her arrival on Channel Seven’s Sunrise.
