Sam Burgess cycles around Malta with Russell Crowe as the actor and South Sydney Rabbitohs co-owner begins production of his new movie
Former NRL footballer Sam Burgess has been globe-trotting with actor Russell Crowe in recent weeks, as the Gladiator star shoots a number of films overseas.
And on Saturday, the pair were seen cycling around Malta with friends.
SAS Australia winner Sam, 32, appeared in high spirits as they pedalled around Fort Ricasoli in the village of Kalkara.

Sam showed off his muscular legs in a pair of black shorts, and carried his belongings in a backpack.
Russell, 57, also wore activewear as they cycled around Kalkara, which was one of the locations for Russell’s hit 2000 film Gladiator.
Sam enjoyed sight-seeing, posting a selfie from their adventures on Instagram.

Russell is in Malta for production of Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher.
Before retiring from the NRL, Sam played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, which Russell co-owns.
Before heading to Malta, the two men were in Thailand where Russell was shooting a movie called The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

Sam was employed on the set in Bangkok, but his exact role is unclear.
The father of two recently told Sunrise he’d landed the job after working with his A-list mentor on a film in Sydney where he earned ‘a basic wage’.
‘I would love to say that I’m in front of camera, going down that line of being a movie star, but I’m not,’ Sam said.

Sam explained he took the job because he wanted to learn leadership skills as he pursues a career as a rugby league coach.
Last month, Russell Crowe was criticised for supporting Sam after the former Rabbitohs star confessed to being unfaithful to his ex-wife Phoebe on SAS Australia.
