Sam Burgess hits the beach with pregnant fiancée as it’s revealed Souths star Cody Walker ‘tipped Bunnies legend over the edge with F-bomb rant at coach in front of team’

Rabbitohs legend Sam Burgess and his heavily pregnant fiancée Lucy Graham were all smiles on Sunday as it was reported that an expletive-laden rant from Cody Walker tipped the Englishman over the edge at Souths.

The Rabbitohs’ campaign was plunged into turmoil last week when Burgess decided to quit the club following a falling out with Bunnies coach Jason Demetriou.

Burgess’ sudden departure comes after he and and fellow assistant coach John Morris reportedly spoke to Demetriou over his perceived special treatment of Bunnies stars Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.

That tension culminated with Burgess exiting the club on Wednesday, while Demetriou fronted the media to declare that Walker and Mitchell do not run South Sydney.

It was also reported that club co-owner Russell Crowe hung up on Burgess during a fiery phone call as the Hollywood star tried to broker a peace.

However, the last straw for Burgess was witnessing Cody Walker telling the coach to ‘f**k off’ in front of the whole team during the captain’s run before Souths’ loss to Newcastle last weekend, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

Demetriou reportedly addressed the situation privately with Walker afterwards, but Burgess believed it should have been dealt with immediately. 

Meanwhile, Burgess looked to be in good spirits when he was spotted with pregnant fiancée Lucy Graham at Coogee Beach.

The couple were all smiles as they enjoyed the radiant winter sunshine after a dramatic week for Burgess.

The former Rabbitohs player proposed to Lucy just nine months after they went public with their relationship.

Burgess revealed that he was extremely nervous when he asked the Leeds hairdresser to marry him.

Appearing on Channel 7’s Sunrise shortly after arriving back in Australia, Sam was asked how he proposed to Lucy.

While he kept the details private, he said: ‘I was very nervous actually, I dropped the ball so to speak, it was a great day, a great time away, we are both very happy.’

Burgess will move to the head coaching role at Super League club Warrington next year

Lucy appeared extremely happy with her engagement ring, as she shared photos of her flaunting it on Instagram.

Sharing a stunning selfie, she wrote: ‘Just me making sure that I get my left hand into every single photo that I possibly can’.

Sam already shares two older children, Poppy, four, and Billy, three, with his ex-wife Phoebe Burgess (née Hooke).

Lucy recently made the decision to move Down Under from the UK permanently and it’s believed her pregnancy was the reason.
