A dazzling Melbourne pad that was once owned by controversial AFL legend Sam Newman has hit the market.

Located in a prestige high-rise block in Docklands, just 2kms from the CBD, the New York-style ‘executive apartment’ boasts four-bedrooms and three-bathrooms.

Recently available as a rental for an eye-watering $3,500 a week, it has now been listed with a price guide of $5.5million-$6million.

Newman sold off the property in 2020 to the current owner for $5million, reported the Herald Sun on Friday.

Known for his outspoken views on AFL, high-flying Newman gained fame as a player for the Geelong Football Club throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

Newman, whose birth name is John, became a regular on Nine’s The Footy Show, which was axed in 2019.
