Samantha Armytage has taken aim at Australian private health care fund HCF over their long wait times over the phone.

The veteran presenter, 48, shared a photo to social media on Tuesday of a screenshot of her smartphone, revealing she had been on hold for almost an hour.

She added an arrow next to the call waiting time of 54:49 and didn’t mince words.

‘And waiting! You’d think with all the gazillions of dollars they make, they could employ more people in their call centre,’ Sam vented.

Sam added an angry face emoji to further express her frustration.

HCF may have been experiencing longer than average wait times on Tuesday morning, with Sam’s call coinciding with the announcement that Australians have been dealt a cost-of-living blow with private health insurance premiums to increase in the largest hike since 2018.

Costs will increase by a national average of 3.73 per cent, with government data revealing large discrepancies between providers.

Meanwhile, HCF is set to rise by 4.95 per cent.

In October, Sam took a swipe at her former employers Channel Seven after joining rival network Nine.

The TV star was unveiled as the host of Nine’s new dating show The Golden Bachelor at the Upfronts after weeks of rumours.

Her switch to Nine came after she shocked fans by stepping down from rival Seven in August after 21 years with the network.

Sam took a savage dig at Seven and the show she hosted for eight years, Sunrise, during an appearance on Nine’s Today show.

The former Farmer Wants A Wife host shared a selfie alongside Today hosts Karl Stefanovic, Sarah Abo and Jayne Azzopardi.

‘This morning, I woke up with… Today,’ she captioned the image.

Sam also wore a stylish blue dress, in what appeared to be a nod to Nine, as she posed on the set of the breakfast program.

She couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she took several photos in the studio.

It is not the first time Samantha has seemingly taken aim at her former employers Seven.

She appeared to take a thinly-veiled swipe at Seven when she shared a post  celebrating her new job at Nine.

Sharing a photo of herself at the Nine Upfronts, Samantha said her move to Nine was like ‘coming home’, citing that her first reporting job was at the network back in 1998.

She also pointedly said a ‘bit of her heart’ has always been with Nine throughout her long career, despite spending more than 20 years working for their rival Seven.

Sam’s new show The Golden Bachelor offers people in their 50s and 60s a chance to find their second chance at love and will premiere on Nine later this year.
