Hugh revealed this week that he turned down the role of James Bond and went against the advice of his doctor to get the new film made.
Speaking with The Sun, the 49-year-old revealed his medic advised him not to sing in the musical, as it might split the stitches he had received in his nose after he underwent surgery to remove skin cancers.

‘My doctor had said, “do not sing, you’ve just had 80 stitches in your nose. They really could split apart, you could get an infection,” which I’d had before in a similar operation’, Hugh told the tabloid.
‘So I was like, “Don’t worry I’m not going to risk that, I’m just going to speak it and someone else will sing it”‘.
However, Hugh conceded he got swept up in the moment, belting out the musical’s tunes and defying doctor’s orders.
‘The emotion of the song and the moment took over me,’ he confessed.
