Samantha Armytage leaves Kyle & Jackie O ]studios after Sunrise snub

Former Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage kept things casual for her breakfast radio interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday.

She snubbed the Channel Seven breakfast program she used to host from 2013 to 2021 in order to speak to KIIS FM stars Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, as she began the publicity tour for the new season of Farmer Wants a Wife.

The 45-year-old, who is guest-hosting FWAW this year in what is rumoured to be her last gig before wrapping up her contract with Seven, was escorted by two radio producers as she left the station’s Sydney headquarters.

The former news anchor opted for a corporate chic ensemble comprising grey linen pants, a black blazer and cream top, which she teamed with a tan saddle bag.

She completed her look with gold hoop earrings and white sneakers, and styled her blonde hair in a side parting.

Armytage appeared to be in good spirits as she left the studio and climbed into the passenger seat of a black Audi Q7.

Instead of being interviewed on her old stomping ground of Sunrise, she instead spoke to her mates Kyle and Jackie O about her new guest-hosting role on the dating series Farmer Wants a Wife, which premieres on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Sunrise welcomed the show’s four new farmers – Paige, Will, Ben and Harry – for a sit-down with hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington.

Armytage, a real-life farmer’s wife who married horse breeder Richard Lavender in late 2020, said: ‘We found some really good farmers this year.

‘The show is genuinely about these people falling in love.’

‘It doesn’t sound like you miss [breakfast TV] at all,’ Jackie O said.

‘I don’t,’ Sam replied bluntly. ‘I wouldn’t want to go back and be a TV star. I quite like my life.’

Daily Mail Australia understands the focus of FWAW’s pre-show publicity is on the farmers, not the presenters, which is also why Sam was likely not interviewed live on Sunrise.
