A San Antonio police officer fired in July appeared to lead a double life, cleaning up the streets of crime by day, but shacking up with a call girl by night.
Officer Mark H. Walaski, who worked for Texas law enforcement for 22 years, was put on indefinite suspension in July after his department discovered he was dating a prostitute, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Suspension documents obtained by Express-News state that Walaski, 50, was fired for ‘consorting with persons of ill repute.’

The documents show that Walaski met Tracy Helmke, who had a warrant for her arrest for prostitution, in July 2016.
Shortly thereafter, the two began dating and Helmke moved into Walaski’s apartment.
Records show that Walaski once paid $530 to bail Helmke out of jail when she was arrested for two separate prostitution charges.
He also failed to notify superiors about two separate disturbance incidents between the himself and his girlfriend.
The veteran law enforcement officer later signed for a six-month lease on an apartment for Helmke.
This was Walaski’s second suspension of the year. His prior punishment came in April, when he was suspended for three-days in connection with a failed drug test.
Police Chief William McManus has already issued 45 suspensions this year. Around 2,100 individuals serve on the police force.
