A San Diego police officer can been seen on newly-released bodycam locking himself in the backseat of his cruiser with a female suspect who wanted to have sex with him – before calling a colleague to let him out.
Anthony Hair resigned from the SDPD after an investigation into the embarrassing incident was launched and just one day before he was to be interviewed by superiors.
The new footage starts after he arrested the unidentified woman because she was suspected of stealing a car on August 15, 2023.
The suspect, wearing a red tank top and red shorts, was one of two people wanted for the car theft but she also had a bench warrant out for her arrest.
Hair was supposed bring her to police headquarters and then to the Las Colinas Detention Center in Santee.
As they drove back to the precinct, the woman is heard propositioning him for sex.

The incident, which was largely captured by body cameras, starts after Officer Hair arrested the unidentified woman because she was suspected of stealing a car on August 15, 2023
She asks him if he’s married, to which Hair wants to know why she’s asking him.
‘You’re not too bad. What’s it gonna hurt me if I work the system, you know what I mean? That’s the way I see s***.’
She then asks: ‘Are you single?’ To which he responds: ‘Yeah, but you’re not.’
Her shocking response: ‘I’m down to f*** right now.’
‘Don’t say that right now…Don’t say that right now because everything is being recorded right now,’ Hair said.
As they continue toward the detention center, he can be heard asking her what she’s doing in the backseat.

Hair then started driving his cruiser down a residential street, according to his GPS, and turned off his body cam.
The story resumes about 20 minutes later with hair calling a fellow police officer, admitting he’d locked himself into the back of his police car and asking if he had a master key that could open it.
The unidentified fellow officer described Hair as panicked.
‘I asked him if he was okay. He said, yes, and then asked if I had my patrol car key with me…I asked why he was asking and what did he need. Officer Hair then asked me If I could go meet him,’ he said.
‘I asked him his location and he said, near Cottonwood… I asked him why he needed me, and he said he would tell me when I got there. He said he was really embarrassed.’
Hair then started driving his cruiser down a residential street, according to his GPS, and turning off his body cam. Shortly after, the cop gets to the scene and opens the back door to discover Hair and the woman together in the backseat.
By the time he’d been found the officer had been locked with the suspect in the back of the car for over an hour.
Hair denied anything untoward had happened, repeatedly saying he was ‘checking’ on the suspect when the door accidentally locked on him and that the camera shut off because he’d knocked it off its clip.
‘When I was waking her up, that’s when I noticed that this door closed on me. That’s when I was trying to kind of open the door,’ Hair said.
The suspect also claimed during an investigation that nothing inappropriate had happened between them but that he hoped they could meet when she was freed.

Hair resigned from his job about a month after the investigation began and a day before he was scheduled for an interview with internal affairs
‘He wanted to get with me when I was done with the warrant or whatever I got arrested for,’ said the woman.
However, upon investigation, traces of semen were discovered on Hair’s belt after they found him. He was asked to re-enact their time together as part of the probe.
Hair resigned from his job about a month after the investigation began and a day before he was scheduled for an interview with internal affairs.
It’s unclear if he faces any criminal charges.
