Sandra Bullock is a ‘very special person’ says her Hope Floats co-star Harry Connick Jr adding they still talk… 26 years after their film debuted

Harry Connick Jr is still close with his Hope Floats co-star Sandra Bullock.

The Grammy winning multihyphenate, 56 — whose three adult daughters recently opened up about their dating problems —  revealed on Wednesday that he keeps in touch with the 59-year-old actress.

It has been 26 years since their romantic film debuted,

He told People they ‘still keep in touch’ and that ‘just meeting Sandy, getting to know her’ was his favorite part of filming.

‘She’s just amazing,’ said the actor, whose movie Find Me Falling debuts on Netflix on July 19.

In the 1998 film, Bullock and Connick played lovers that find their way to each other after her character suffers a devastating heartbreak.

‘She’s a very special person,’ he went on about the actress. ‘I loved doing that movie with her and I loved everything about it, but coming away from that with her as a friend was definitely my favorite part.’

The actor also shared that The Blind Side star maintains a friendly relationship with his wife, Jill Goodacre Connick, and their three daughters: Georgia, 28, Kate, 26, and Charlotte, 22.

Sharing how they chat, he said: ‘She’s busy and I’m busy, but when we do talk or text each other, it’s always great to hear from her.’

In 2018, the father-of-three recalled the moment Sandra, who co-produced the film, told him he would play her counterpart in Hope Floats. 

‘She starts unbuttoning her shirt, and she starts raising her shirt up,’ Connick told People. ‘On her stomach was written, “You got the part.”‘

According to co-producer Linda Obst in 2018, the brunette beauty was ‘100 percent’ involved in all aspects of the project, including casting Connick for the role. 

‘She was excited about him from the idea through the first audition,’ Obst said to E! News. ‘He was Sandra’s first choice, and because chemistry has a lot to do with that, her vote was crucial.’

The movie marked the first made under the actress’s production company Fortis Films.
