Sandro Tonali will be free to play from August 27.

The Newcastle midfielder has been handed a suspended two-month suspended and has been fined £20,000 after admitting to fresh breaches of betting rules. 

In March, Tonali was hit with 50 new allegations of betting on football matches after joining Newcastle.

That came as he was serving a 10-month ban for illegal betting imposed by the Italian FA.  

His banning period is fully suspended for the entire 2024/25 season, meaning he can play from August 27 as his original ban stated. 

Tonali will serve an additional two-month ban if he commits a furhter breach of rules during next season.
