Santa Claus made it to a few homes before the night before Christmas, bringing holiday cheer to two boys who were unable to meet Saint Nick because of their service dogs.

First responders in Indiana and Massachusetts asked Santa Claus to make special accommodations for the boys after they were both denied a moment with the jolly gift giver because of their service dogs.

The Brownsburg Fire Territory in Indiana took to their Facebook page on Monday to share that eight-years-old Tyler Burkhart was ‘crushed’ when his family went to meet Santa in Indianapolis but were denied access.

‘We can’t solve all the worlds problems, but when we can make a difference we will step in,’ the fire department said in their initial Monday post.

The fire department called up a local Santa Claus and drove him to Tyler’s home on Monday night, letting the youngster spray water from a hose and honk on the truck’s horn.

They even gave the young boy a toy fire truck for the holidays.

‘It was an honor to be able to help bring a little Christmas joy to our friend Tyler,’ the department said in another post, sharing photos of the heartwarming moment.

Tyler is autistic and struggles with lights and sounds but his family figured things would be different this year with the service dog, the boy’s parents explained to WISH-TV.

But the family was just as crushed as Tyler was when an elf informed them that he wouldn’t be able to meet Santa as his dog – named Ryan – could cause problems for other children with allergies.

Alyssa Burkhart, the boy’s mother, explains that Ryan has made it so much easier to take Tyler to various spaces. The boy declared he ‘loved’ the visit from Santa Claus.

‘He’s going to be talking about it for days,’ his mother added.

In Massachusetts, Saint Nick also managed to make a special trip to nine-year-old Hunter Specht’s home. Mr Claus received special help from the Lunenberg Police and Fire departments, along with the Salvation Army and officers from other local areas.

‘Tonight, Santa made a visit to our good friend Hunter to wish him a Merry Christmas, and deliver a few gifts early,’ the Lunenburg Police Department said in a statement.

Hunter – who suffers from Epilepsy – was denied a visit with Santa at a mall in Leominster because of his service dog, Angel.

‘Christmas is supposed to be a magical time and for that to happen last night and see my son crushed, I hope that no parent ever has to face that,’ Sarah Specht explained to WFXT.

Cherry Hill Programs, the company hired to take photos with Santa at the mall, announced that service dogs should be allowed.

‘The employee involved in this incident did not follow our Cherry Hill Programs protocol. The individual has been suspended and we are investigating the matter. We have reached out to the family with an apology and invitation to return for a private visit with Santa at their earliest convenience.’
