A Greens senator has accused Pauline Hanson of putting Australia’s security at risk with her burqa stunt, warning the next terrorist attack will be ‘on her head’.

Sarah Hanson-Young described the One Nation leader’s decision to wear the Islamic garb into Parliament last week as disgraceful, arguing it contradicted the advice of security experts.

‘You are doing ISIS’s work for them,’ the left-wing senator from Adelaide told Sunrise on Monday morning.

‘You are putting the entire country at risk.’

Senator Hanson stood by her push for the burqa ban, despite what Senator Hanson-Young labelled a ‘stupid stunt’.

‘The next attack in Australia will be on your head Pauline,’ the Greens senator said.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Senate colleague Malcolm Roberts, who also hails from Queensland, was outraged by Sarah Hanson-Young’s remarks on Sunrise.

‘What terrible behaviour, to politise a tragedy before it even happens.’

One Nation’s primary vote rose from 8 per cent to 9 per cent in the latest Newspoll, but Senator Hanson doesn’t think it was driven by wearing the burqa in the Senate chamber.

‘But, I do believe the burqa is something that we need to actually talk about.’

Senator Hanson wore a full-face burqa into the Senate on Thursday last week, earning her a rebuke from Attorney-General George Brandis.
