Sarah Jessica Parker kisses new onscreen leading man Jon Tenney on the And Just Like That set

Carrie Bradshaw’s tumultuous love story with Mr Big was one of the main story arcs of the Sex And The City franchise.

Yet it appears the show’s protagonist may finally have called it quits with her on/off partner after leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted kissing co-star Jon Tenney on the And Just Like That… set in New York on Wednesday, while Chris Noth (who played Big) was nowhere to be seen.

Jon’s character has not yet been announced, but the steamy kiss scenes come after fans speculated Mr Big could be killed off in the reboot after actors were seen filming funeral scenes, and also after the Sex And The City author Candace Bushnell said the series’ message about finding a man was ‘not very feminist’.

There has also been speculation that Carrie and Big aka John James Preston will divorce in the reboot after a leaked script showed the couple’s marriage is on the rocks, although Carrie was still wearing her wedding ring in the scenes.

Wow! Two-time Emmy winner Sarah Jessica Parker kissed her brand new onscreen leading man Jon Tenney while filming HBO Max’s And Just Like That in Manhattan’s West Village neighborhood on Wednesday

Jon, 59, is best known for his roles in ABC’s Scandal and TNT’s The Closer and was previously married to Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher.

It is not the first time he’s worked alongside Sarah, 56, as the pair previously co-starred as Jo Ann Harris and Peter Bauer in 25 episodes of ABC legal drama Equal Justice back in 1990.

Jon also starred alongside Sarah’s husband Matthew Broderick in Kenneth Lonergan’s 2000 drama You Can Count On Me as well as the Broadway play Biloxi Blues in 1986.

And all three actors played roles in Eugene Pack’s spoken word short comedy series The Pack Podcast last year.

For the And Just Like That… scenes, Jon gave Sarah a kiss goodnight outside Carrie’s famed Perry Street brownstone.

Sarah was clad in a typically quirky ensemble, pairing a yellow floral dress with a hot pink jacket, while Jon looked dapper in a navy blazer and jeans.

Earlier that day, the talented twosome were seen filming yet another hot date together, with Sarah clad in an Indian lehenga.

Carrie’s kiss with a new man will no doubt send Sex And The City fans into a spin as there have been several theories on what will happen to the couple when the reboot airs in December.

There have been claims that Mr Big will split from Carrie as well as rumours that he could even be killed off from the franchise entirely.

In July, Page Six got a glimpse at Emmy-nominated sound mixer Charles Hunt’s script pages that suggested Carrie and Big are set for divorce.

‘I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair,’ Carrie tells her friends in the leaked scene. ‘Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?’

Meanwhile claims that he could be killed off in the series come after a source close to the show teased that ‘it is going to be a big death’ – hinting at the fact it could be Big.

Funeral scenes were then seen being filmed, although only extras were pictured on set, with none of the protagonists present.

Alongside Big, another frontrunner to be killed off is Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, after the actress refused to sign on for the reboot amid her feud with Sarah.

Steve Brady (Miranda Hobbes’ husband played by David Eigenberg) and Magda (Miranda’s housekeeper played by Lynn Cohen) have also had their names thrown into the ring.

While the name likely will not be confirmed until the first episode airs, one thing is for certain, with sources insisting that Carrie will not die in episode one.

Only senior cast and crew have been made aware of the character kill-off, and are sworn to secrecy.

Executive producer SJP wants to ‘shake up audiences from the get go to make them realize this is a different paced show from the previous one, where anything can happen and anyone can go… just like life’, the source said.

There’s no denying the original HBO series – based on Candace Bushnell’s 1997 book – which aired 1998-2004 was iconic albeit a whitewashed version of Manhattan.
