SAS Australia: Locky Gilbert is accused of faking his tears

Locky Gilbert was called out for faking his tears after receiving a video message from girlfriend Irena Srbinovska on Tuesday’s episode of SAS Australia.

‘Over the past 11 days, the DS [directing staff] has noticed a lack of empathy from reality TV star Locky,’ noted the show’s narrator.

After being led blindfolded into an interrogation room, Locky, 32, was then sat in front of a laptop.

‘He won’t show any emotion, and if he does, it will be fake tears,’ predicted chief instructor Ant Middleton.

‘I can’t remember the last time I had a good cry. I’m just not a crier. And the one thing Irena wants is just to see me cry,’ Locky later admitted.

Despite this, Locky immediately burst into tears as soon as his blindfold was removed, dropping his head and sobbing.

‘F**king hell. They’re not real tears. I’m not convinced,’ said a sceptical Ant, 41, who was watching Locky from another room.

As Irena’s video message to Locky played out on the laptop, the former Bachelor star continued to sniffle and sob.

His performance left Ant visibly bemused, as he looked around the room to see if any of the other DS were buying into it.

‘What I did on Bachelor, like, if I knew it was going to be a sad interview, I’d listen to a sad song. Boom, it gets you in the mood. It’s really good technique,’ Locky later confessed.

‘That’s what made me cry on the finale. I was literally standing on the thing with headphones in as they were about to walk out.’

'The car rolled up, boom, headphones in the pocket, [fakes crying]. I had to make myself cry,' he laughed as he recounted his tears on The Bachelor finale

A smiling Locky added: ‘I don’t have emotions. I can’t even think of a fricken emotion. Don’t talk about emotions. [Grunts] I’m a man.’

Earlier in the episode, Locky stunned his fellow recruits when he revealed his mother didn’t even know he was appearing on SAS Australia.

‘I never tell her when I do TV shows. I just wait until she sees the ad on TV. It’s so funny! I just think it’s funny not telling her,’ he laughed.

He added that he has a tendency to ‘go MIA [missing in action] for months’, prompting Anna Heinrich to ask if he’s ‘close’ with his mother.

‘I am. Not talk-to-her-everyday close, but I love her to death,’ he said.

SAS Australia continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
