SAS Australia’s Ant Middleton spills on nasty contestant clash between Paul Fenech and Locky Gilbert
Fans of SAS Australia can look forward to bruising encounters on and off the course in the new season of the hit reality show.
Chief instructor Ant Middleton, 41, confirmed that there was a clash between Fat Pizza star Pauly Fenech and former Bachelor Locky Gilbert.
Interviewed on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa Friday Middleton said, ‘Paul doesn’t mess around, he comes with a punch.’
Doing it tough: Locky Gilbert (pictured) clashed with SAS Australia co-star Paul Fenech while filming the new season.
Teaser promos have shown clips of the comedian getting nasty with the other contestants.
He may have been provoked by Locky who describes himself in the trailer as a ‘egotistical fame junkie, I am a tough alpha male.’
The tension between the hulking Locky and the pint-sized Pauly was, says Middleton, a case of big personalities and big characters.
‘You’ll see that come through, for the best and the worst,’ the former British Royal Marine said.
At one point in the trailer an emotional Locky complains, ‘My God, Pauly, you are a liability.’
Alone: Pauly Fenech seen here in the latest season of SAS Australia. He got snarky with other contestants.
Pauly, 49, most recently appeared in the feature The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee but hasn’t yet done a follow up to his popular 7mate series Bogan Hunters from 2014.
Coming to fame on Australian Survivor in 2017 Locky, 31 was the Bachelor for the 2020 season.
Filmed in rugged conditions surrounding an eerie abandoned coal mine south of Sydney, SAS Australia put the seventeen contestants through a series of agonising challenges.
The new season begins Monday on Channel Seven.
