Saturday Night Live: Regé-Jean Page films a steamy Bridgerton sex scene for his hosting debut

Regé-Jean Page made his Saturday Night Live debut this weekend following the success of Netflix hit drama Bridgerton.

And the 31-year-old British–Zimbabwean actor played up his status as a sex symbol during a sketch which reimagined what goes on behind-the-scenes of the raunchy series. 

Regé-Jean – who plays the hunky Duke of Hastings on Bridgerton – was seen climbing on top of Chloe Fineman, who was pretending to be his co-star Phoebe Dynevor.

In the series, one particular scene portrays the Duke taking Daphne’s [played by Dynevor] viginity.

But the SNL sketch incorporated a pair of creepy intimacy coordinators, played by Mikey Day and Pete Davidson, to coach them through the scene.

The two SNL players were dressed in rugged work clothes and sported identical goatees.

Kate McKinnon, playing the episode’s director, explained that the real intimacy coordinator had tested positive for Covid-19, so they had to rely on substitutes.

Regé-Jean, who was dressed in period costume, was initially a good sport in the skit, before getting increasingly irritated by the intimacy coaches – who then returned to set as make-up artists.

Regé-Jean also poked fun at his sexy Netflix series in his monologue.

He also joked that he watched Framing Britney Spears and realized his mother has ‘way more of a case’ to take over his finances than Britney’s father.

Heidi Garnder played the next guest, a food insecurity activist who helps get meals to those in need.

But she didn’t realize that she was dressed exactly like Freddie Kreuger, including his tattered striped sweater and worn-out fedora. She even had a razor glove just like the movie monster’s that she used while preparing food.
