Savannah Chrisley feels ‘guilty’ for only visiting parents Todd and Julie in prison twice a month – as she shares her Mother’s Day ‘sucked’

Savannah Chrisley revealed on her latest Unlocked podcast episode that she feels guilty for visiting her incarcerated parents Todd and Julie only twice a month.

The 26-year-old Chrisley Knows Best personality — whose mom and dad are serving a combined 19-year prison sentence for tax fraud — admitted she feels bad about ‘moving on with my life.’

She explained, ‘It’s so hard because the first year mom and dad were gone, literally every weekend, I was gone. Every weekend I went and visited one of them.

‘We go twice a month now, and there’s definitely some guilt associated with it because you’re like, “Nah, I shouldn’t be moving on with my life. I need to be there. I need to be seeing them.”‘

Chrisley, who has stepped in to raise her 11-year-old niece Chloe, opened the episode by stating that this year’s Mother’s Day ‘sucked.’

She expressed, ‘It’s so tough because I’ve said it before — it’s mom and dad not being here.’

Savannah described, ‘It’s like learning to grieve the loss of people who are still alive, and grief is real. It is. Sometimes I like to turn a blind eye to it. I like to not feel it.’

The media fixture admitted she prefers to ‘just pack it all away,’ adding that she is making an effort to cope with her feelings and ‘also not feel guilty about moving on with my life.’

She voiced her desire to one day start a family.

‘I’m trying to figure out, like, okay, how do I move on without making my parents feel like I’m moving on without them? How do I, you know, please everyone, which I think is kind of hard to do,’ the star opened up.

‘It’s probably impossible. I don’t know. It’s really tough,’ she said.

Despite the challenging Mother’s Day, there was a silver lining — Chrisley shared with listeners that her niece Chloe gave her a heartfelt gift for the special occasion.

‘Chloe wrote a letter to me for Mother’s Day, and the letter says: “Happy Mother’s Day to Savannah. I know that you weren’t expecting me and Grayson to come in your hands, but you are doing a great job with me and Grayson. Keep up your work. Love, Chloe,”‘ she said.

Todd and Julie adopted Chloe in 2017 as her 32-year-old father Kyle Chrisley — Todd and Julie’s son — battled addiction.

When Todd and Julie were sentenced to prison last year, he for 12 years and she for seven, Chloe wound up in the care of her aunt.

The couple will serve out their time at two separate facilities — Todd’s is in Pensacola, Florida, and Julie’s is in Lexington, Kentucky.

The stars rose to fame on their USA Network reality show Chrisley Knows Best.

It premiered in 2014 and documented their day-to-day lives alongside their six children.

It was broadcast for ten seasons before being canceled amid the couple’s tax evasion scandal.
